CUET Basic Eligibility and Educational Qualification

Candidates need to have passed Class 12 from a recognised board – in stream of Science or a relevant stream to be admitted to bachelor’s degree programs in the Central Universities.

CUET 2026 Exam Pattern

Students who appear for the CUET 2026 Exam must check the CUET 2026 exam pattern that was released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body, along with the notification and information brochure.

CUET UG 2026 exam mode is going to be conducted in a computer-based mode also known as the CBT. CUET UG 2026 exam pattern will have –

Candidates have the option of choosing a language from 13 included in Section 1A, which is compulsory.

This section is optional and for students who wish to study a language other than those listed in Section 1A.

CUET 2026 Marking Scheme

CUET exam marks vary depending on the subjects chosen and the slot assigned to the candidate. According to NTA, the CUET 2026 marking scheme is as follows:

Five marks (+5) for each correct answer or most appropriate answer
One mark (-1) will be deducted for each incorrect option marked
No mark will be given to questions that remain unanswered/marked for review.
Each correct option will be awarded five marks (+5) if more than one option is found correct.
All those who attempt the question will receive 5 marks (+5) if all options are correct.
In the event that no options are found to be correct or the question is found to be incorrect or dropped, all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will receive five marks (+5).

CUET 2026 Syllabus

NTA releases the CUET UG 2026 syllabus along with the official notification. The syllabus of CUET is the same level as that of the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. The common subjects across the different streams of the CUET syllabus 2026 are English, General Aptitude, Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, Analytical Skills, Reasoning, and General Knowledge.
