General, optional Languages associated with the programs: Applicants must make selections in the following manner: Section IB requires a Sanskrit Test. Section II encompasses four subjects specific to domains: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics for this program. Physics and Chemistry are obligatory within these domains. Candidates may choose either Biology or Mathematics as the third subject within a specific domain. If a candidate chooses to appear for both Biology and Mathematics, the marks obtained in the subject/test with the higher score will be considered for merit. Section III involves a General Test for admission to JNU. Candidates who do not participate in all three sections—Section IB (Sanskrit), Section II (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics), and Section III (General Test)—will not be eligible for admission to JNU.

General, optional Languages associated with the programs:Applicants must choose both Section IA – English Test and Section III – General Test to be eligible for admission to JNU. Those who do not participate in both sections, namely Section IA (English Test) and Section III (General Test), will not be considered for admission to JNU.

Qualification for the program:(i) To be eligible for admission, candidates must have successfully completed the Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 45% marks. Candidates who are scheduled to appear in the Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an equivalent examination are also eligible to apply. (ii) Alternatively, candidates can possess a Certificate of Alimiah with a minimum of 45% marks from specified Madrasas, with the condition that they have passed the English language at the Senior Secondary level from a recognized Board/University or a three-year course conducted by Darul-Uloom Deoband. The eligible Madrasas include: Darul Uloom Deoband, U.P. Mazahirul Uloom Saharanpur, U.P. Darul Uloom Mau, U.P. Miftahul Uloom, Mau, U.P. Jamia Athria Darul Hadith Mau, U.P. Jamia Faize Am Mau, U.P. Madrasa Alia Mau, U.P. Madrasa Muhammadia, Mau, U.P. Madrasa Faizanul Uloom Bahadurganj, Ghazipur, U.P. Madrasa Ihyaul Uloom Mubarkpur, Azamgarh, U.P. Tauhid Education Trust Ma’hadabad-Khagra Kishan Ganj, Bihar Jamia Imam Ibn Taimiya, Madinatussalam, E. Champaran, Bihar (iii) Additionally, candidates with a Certificate of Alimiah with at least 45% marks from specific Madrasas or a Certificate of Maulvi with at least 45% marks from the Bihar Board of Madrasa Education, among other specified certificates, are eligible for admission. (iv) Candidates who have pursued B.A./M.A. Language programs in two or more Centers of the School throughout their academic career are not eligible for admission. Note: 80% of the seats in the First Year of the 3-year B.A.(Hons.) program are reserved for those who either passed the Senior School Certificate or equivalent examination in 2022 or are due to appear in 2023, with the remaining 20% open to all other candidates. Candidates with a Higher Secondary Certificate under the 10+1 pattern are eligible for admission to the First-Year of the three-year B.A. program if they have successfully completed the First-Year of Bachelor's degree examination under the 10+1+3 pattern with the prescribed percentage of marks (i.e., 45%). OBC category candidates (non-creamy layer) have a 10% relaxation in the percentage of marks. SC/ST and PWD candidates are eligible to appear in the Entrance Examination irrespective of their percentage of marks in the qualifying examination.
