CUET UG 2024: Here’s What You Need to Know About the Structure of Examination

If you are preparing for CUET UG 2024, then you need to know all the things about the examination and some of the points about its structure. This article explains the scheme and syllabus of the exam.
The National Testing Agency also known as the NTA is carrying out the CUET registration for the CUET UG 2024. And Aspiring candidates who meet the eligibility requirements then can submit their application forms online through the official website at exams.nta.ac. until March 26, 2024.
In this article, we will look at the scheme of examination for CUET UG 2024.
- Total subjects: There will be 61 subjects. 33 of them are languages, 27 of them are domain-specific, and one is a general test.
- Choosing a test paper: Candidates can choose a maximum of six subjects, including languages (Indian and Foreign). As per the NTA, it is advisable for candidates to select at least one language.
- Medium of Test: The exam will be held in 13 languages – Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
- Mode of examination: Hybrid mode (Pen & Paper + CBT).
- Shift and Duration: Because of the large number of participants this year, the CUET UG 2024 test will be held on multiple days, in two or three shifts each. PwBD applicants will be granted a compensatory additional 20 minutes for each hour of the examination.
- Pattern of Question Paper: Objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Syllabus of examination:
The syllabus of CUET UG 2024 examination is categorized into three parts – Language, Domain Subject, and General Test.
- For Language: as per the NTA, language is going to be through Reading Comprehension based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary and Narrative, and Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary.
- For Domain Subject: Consisting of the respective subject chosen by the candidate from NTA website.
- For General Test: Consisting of General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, Simple application of basic mathematical concepts Arithmetic / / Geometry / Mensuration / Algebra / Statistics, Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
